Dr. Jacqueline Mahan
Obstetrics & Gynecology
After growing up in Richfield, Jacqueline Mahan decided to stay around town to attend the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul. While Jackie originally planned to study business, she realized early on that she was far more intrigued by the inner workings of the human body than by the inner workings of a company. After earning a bachelor’s degree in biology, with a minor in mathematics, Jackie attended the University of Minnesota Medical School for her medical degree and her OB-GYN residency. She was a classmate of Dr. Sam Arnold, another member of CHCW. Dr. Mahan is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Dr. Mahan enjoys everything about OB-GYN, especially the balance and variety that her office practice, deliveries and procedures provide. Her special interests include normal and complicated obstetrics, infertility, menstrual disorders, gynecologic procedure and preventive health care for women. She credits her husband, Brian, with his patience of the hectic schedule she keeps as an OB-GYN physician and his “unique understanding of how important my patients are to me. I’m extraordinarily lucky,” she says with a smile.

But, as Jackie’s patients know, luck works both ways. “I’m a great listener,” says Jackie. “I think I have a natural ability to establish open and comfortable relationships with my patients. I really enjoy discussing health and wellness concerns with women.”

Jackie and Brian live in Woodbury with their three younger children: Natalya, Garrett and Alec. Brian and the three kids make time to kick their way to black belts in Tae Kwon Do. As a family, they enjoy outings to amusement parks, zoos, waterparks, lake resorts and other outdoor activities. But, hands down, their favorite destination is Disneyworld. Jackie also enjoys unwinding with a good book, going shopping, or trying her hand at arts and crafts with the kids. Every once in a while, she’ll take a break from the hectic pace of her practice and family with a quiet evening at home, watching a movie and eating any kind of treat – as long as it’s chocolate.
